WTCA Executive Director-Business Development Addressed 2020 CCPIT Event

On December 20, Robin van Puyenbroeck, WTCA Executive Director-Business Development, virtually attended and spoke at the 2nd annual “Chinese Listed Companies to Build the Belt & Road International (BRI) Cooperation Forum” held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province in China. On behalf of the Association, he provided opening remarks and participated at the event to discuss and support international trade and investment along the B&R route where two-thirds of the WTCA’s global network, or roughly 200 WTCs, are located. The event was co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and the WTCA.

With the theme of Joining Hands to Face Challenges and Promote Win-Win Cooperation, 400+representatives from relevant ministries and commissions, domestic and foreign listed companies, financial institutions, business associations, think tanks and WTC representatives around the globe gathered together at the hybrid event -- both virtually and in-person -- to discuss and exchange ideas regarding the BRI. Event attendees were treated to engaging plenary sessions to discuss how to boost global cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, how to enhance the global digital economy and leverage China’s market opening up to foreign companies and investors, as well as how to promote the synergy between the advanced manufacturing industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the B&R countries.

In addition to Mr. van Puyenbroeck, Madam Gao Yan, Chairperson of CCPIT, Mr. Xu Lejiang, Vice Chairman of ACFIC, and Mr. Wang Xi, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province also spoke at the opening ceremony.
